A Few Show Questions
Hello! I recently finished rewatching the Simoun anime and had a few questions about the story:
1. In Episode 11 - United Front, Floe had a brief dalliance with a soldier. Should this relationship be viewed seriously or more of a "thinking only of today" friendship? The main focus of that particular episode was on Floe and I wasn't quite sure how to interpret her brief relationship with the soldier. It seems like it was important to Floe's characterization.
2. In Episode 19 - Sibylla, the pairs are shuffled and Chor Tempest is ordered to recon the position of the enemy carrier. Aer and Yun were intentionally ordered to stay behind. The defense minister had a reason to order Aer to stay behind. What was it?
3. In Episode 9 - Hearing, Dominura has a secret meeting with some officials to discuss a plan regarding Chor Tempest. What were Dominura's instructions? During that story arc, there are several mentions of a secret plan, but it is never explained.
If anyone can offer some insights, it would be appreciated.

Re: A Few Show Questions
I wondered about number 1 as well. Floe seems very impulsive... and I think this fling with the soldier kinda showed her cavalier attitude firsthand. It sets up her character for when she's giving her two cents later on, I suppose. What really got me was... <_< >_> (spoilers, highlight to read) Floe chose to become a male. (/Spoilers) It just didn't fit for her, I felt...
Number 2, the best I can come up with is that because of Aaeru's grandfather being a part of Chor Dextra, they didn't want her to be involved... Beyond that, it's possible that it's just the defense minister... not understanding how Chor Tempest is supposed to function. It's a very explicit order though, which... really doesn't make sense, I agree. And it lead to Mamina's death too.
For number 3, I think that was about Chor Dextra... or else, it was about transferring them to the Messis? I know that happens shortly afterward...
Sorry I don't have clear answers, just speculation.

Re: A Few Show Questions
Thanks for posting your thoughts! I didn't think anyone was ever going to reply.
1. Floe is certainly childish and impulsive. However, there are times - like the relationship with the soldier - that make you wonder if there is more to the character.
2. Yeah, the order was extremely specific. It seemed like there was a key piece of background information that the audience wasn't made privy to.
3. To me, it seems like the transfer to the Messis wasn't part of the original plan. Rather, it was a compromise. I still wonder what the original plan for Chor Tempest was supposed to be.
