Speaking of posters, I'm getting the Simoun poster I've been waiting a long time for. Hint hint: Dominura-sama!

I also want soundtracks, which I would like to get cheaper than $40 (Ebay price). Yahoo Japan is my next target for a $20 one.

Right so I'm not going to post pictures, but I've got a few things in the short time I've been into the series:

- Endless Melody Complete Collection DVD set
- Vols. 1, 2, 3 of the series individually
- Limited edition of the PS2 game (with 2 manga and data CD, as well as a pretty box)
- An art portfolio with the following genga in it
- The yuri-hime manga anthology
- The two light novels, in Chinese
- OST I
- Special Flight CD (I don't have it yet, but it's being shipped through the shipping service)

Unofficially I also have:

- the Sibylla dress cosplay for Aaeru (soon)
- two chibi magnets of Aaeru and Neviril in Simoun pilot gear
- a customized photo notebook with Aaeru and Neviril on the front, and Aaeru's love confession on the inside

I'm so jealous of those chibi magnets! X3 Gimme gimme gimme!!! lol Hmm, where did you get the Chinese light novels? I may have to hunt those down too.

The love confession just seemed perfect to use. I love the notebook overall though. I got my new copy yesterday and it's wonderful and looks so nice. I look forward to using it.

The magnets are my favorites. I commissioned them at Tekkoshocon from someone who had these really cute chibi magnets....I'm sure she loved me since I bought three from her at the time and then decided I wanted those two drawn as well.

I got them from yes-asia.com. Each was between $13 and $15 and well worth the price. I documented the pictures that were inside by snapping photos, but it was enough to show. There's a bunch of color photos in the front, which I think were all on the internet, but with these light novels there's also the sketches that when with them inside that no one had seen and those were lovely. That's the same site I got the yuri-hime book from. You get free shipping if you spend $39, which is a really odd number, but eh. They sell some of the other stuff there too, but it's expensive, as expected.

I can easily swing that, I'm going to look into it tomorrow. I just purchased the Simoun auction I've been waiting for! ^_~ You'll see in the near future. In the meantime, here's something that arrived in the mail today:

It's really not a bad deal. It takes awhile to get the product in hand, but worth it. I only wish I could find the light novels in Japanese so that someone might be able to translate them. As it is, they're in Chinese so I think it'll be a tad harder to ever find someone to translate them XD

XD Yeah and I don't know anyone who can translate Chinese. With enough round the clock searching on Yahoo Japan auctions, the light novels might turn up. ^_^

I've not seen any there so far from my searches. Out of curiosity, how do you buy from YJ? Do you use a shopping service or some other connection? I'd love to find a way to cut down on some of the shipping costs. I loved the shopping service I used but I know I could cut down on costs somewhat.

After Dominura-sama, I'd personally like one of Waporif. ^___^ I could use two. One for the room and one for the car. It'll be nice to have him around during repairs and such. ^_~

I have connections through Ebay sellers who purchase their inventory from Yahoo Japan. I suggest you get a hold of one of them and strike some kind of deal. I could help out if you really need a certain item. No promises though, I'll have to sweet talk the dealers. XD Just to be on the safe side.

I have my two propped up on my desk at this point. I don't want them to be on my fridge with the others I bought from her that she had stock of (Saber from Fate/stay night in armor, Patty from Soul Eater, and Medusa from Soul Eater). I am going to take pictures of Aaeru and Neviril with me to Otakon and see if I can find any interesting artistic styles to get commissions done of the two. I love supporting a good artist and getting Simoun from them

I wouldn't even know who to contact about doing that. My best bet is to just continue using the shopping service I currently have. They did take superb care of my CD and they only took an $8 commission for themselves. Plus, they have real-time bidding so that's also a plus; I can keep an eye on my item. I do plan to buy from YJ in the future, simply to get the other CDs I can't get elsewhere and possibly genga. I would get other things as they surfaced, but right now I can't buy anything until I pay off what I've got XD Next month I plan to do some more Simoun shopping. I should, in all likelihood, be able to purchase then.

Before I talk about my new treasures, it's nice to see you all again! Apologies for the long absence, it's been a hectic summer thus far. Many thanks to Rachel for keeping up the Simoun fandom. Once I get more situated with RL issues, I'll be back in the swings of things. Even so, I had to check up on you guys. I've actually been reading your fanfics on my PSP, Rachel. ^_~ So much to comment on! Until then, here's the latest addition to my Simoun collection. Three pre-production layouts of the lovely Dominūra-sama. Here's the inside details from the Ebay description:

You are bidding on a set of three original, one-of-a-kind pre-production layouts used in the making of the popular Japanese anime television series Simoun (シムーン) originally broadcast in Japan in 2006. A manga adaptation was published in three issues of Comic Yuri Hime. In 2007 Simoun was licensed for release in North America by Media Blasters.

There are three gorgeous hand drawn layout featuring Dominūra. All are drawn in pencil with red, green, yellow, orange, blue and other highlights on Studio Deen 16:9 type IV layout paper. All come from episode #10 and include the hand painted water color background that was used in all three cuts. This title was created with CGI, so there are no cels. Overall size is 8.25 inches by 11.75 inches and the background is slightly larger. Layouts are in great condition with minor creases, wrinkles and tears as expected in art used by the studio to create an anime. Will come shipped in archival polypropylene bag.

I didn't post in here earlier because my only Simoun merchandise to speak of was the complete DVD collection, but earlier this summer I obtained some genga of my own so I thought I'd share. : )

This one is of Guragief in the beginning of episode 20. The frame is from the part where he says "I still believe that it may have been reckless to send out Chor Tempest like that" (referring to episode 19 ;_; ).

They were both from the seller silvrdrago on ebay.

Since last posting I realized I had acquired some more things

- Genga of the scene between Floe & Aaeru, and genga of Aaeru.
- Vol. 4 & 5 DVDs

Unofficially, I've now got:
- 2 buttons, one of Aaeru, and one of Neviril
- a yuri fan badge of Aaeru/Neviril
- a watercolor piece of Aaeru/Neviril, though Aaeru's face is a little dark

(The buttons and badge are my absolute favorite and will be used at future cons from now on. The buttons are on the strap of my Sgt. Frog bag right now. Every fan piece here was acquired at Otakon.)

Currently ordered & unofficial:
- 18 inch Aaeru plush in pilot uniform
- Customized bag of Aaeru/Neviril during the waltz scene, with Aaeru's music box inside.

My own "creation"
- I started printing all doujinshi and manga and compiling a Simoun Doujinshi & Manga binder. Currently I have everything printed save for the yuri-hime one, and the Anu/Gura one.

That's the cover that has the bizarrely sexless naked patty-cake embrace, right? Yeah. Looking at the cover alone first guess as to the genre of the show would probably be something like either mahou shoujo or lesbian porn.

Acquired some new merchandise today and will hopefully have it sometime next month. It was completely unplanned, but when I saw them both on Yahoo!Japan, I knew I would lose a chance to buy them because I'd never seen them pop up before in my searches.

I won the auctions for the Flight 1 and Flight 2 CDs, which have the 26 episodes of the Radio DE Ri Majon show on them. It was about $90 for them both, but that doesn't include the shipping, wire fee, and commission fee I'll pay. Still, these are the two hardest CDs to find and track down. Now I will be able to complete my CD collection for Simoun. Well, after I get the drama CD and the other OST CD I need, but those aren't hard to get!

I have something else to add. Today I received my Play-Asia package that had both the OP and ED singles. There's nothing to document with these, as everyone's seen the cover art for the CDs (and there are no booklets inside), but they are much nicer in person to look at.

My next post will be about my bag most likely, as my friend's got the front finished, and only had to do the music box today. Most of you have seen the preview of it on my LJ last night, but I will post it here once I have it.

Received a wonderful package today - My Simoun messenger bag.

This is what it looks like:



You can see my friend's post about it on her dA here. She has taken to customizing anything that's on canvas material so she was happy to do my bag. She mostly does hats though, but I could never think of something Simoun that I wanted on a hat. My bag, on the other hand, was another story because I loved it to start with. If you want anything customized in Simoun fashion (or any fandom for that matter) give her a shout.
